My Thoughts:
Finally! The second book of this fantastic duet by Ella Frank is now out for all of us who were left hanging from Bad Intentions.
Quick recap: Marcus did something that was so natural for him, he did not realize how much it would affect Gabe. Gabe found out and he let Marcus have it. It's now up to Marcus to make it up to Gabe. That pretty much sums it up.
Good Intentions picks up right where Bad Intentions left off and boy, it was worth the wait. As soon as I got my copy, I devoured the book in one sitting.
Something is so compelling and yet so tender and sweet between Gabe and Marcus' dynamic. It's like grumpy and sunshine but more like the "powerful stoic guy" falls for the "playful sunshine". Marcus becomes a different, better version of himself around Gabe. I enjoyed seeing him slowly put his walls down, or might be that Gabe just got through them with lots of smiles, winks and eyebrows-wagging.
In this book, I got to see Gabe and Marcus navigate their fledgling relationship. I love that both of them too extra care of it and I specially love the scene where Moon River was played and it just added the mood and setting and extra feels during that specific tender scene.
I really enjoyed the cameos of Logan, Tate, Julien, Robbie and Priest. Logan played a vital role in this book. It's great to see these characters pop up and experience them again.
This duet is my favorite among the spin offs so far. There's just something about Marcus and Gabe that's so endearing, so precious.
If you're in to an age-gap, grumpy and sunshine, found family story that will warm your hot and make you sweat at the same time, because let's face it: it's an Ella Frank book, it is steamy, then you need to meet Gabe and Marcus. Check out this duet!
My Rating:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars across a moon lit river.
BLURB:
Gabriel Romero made me hungry for things I’d never wanted, and starved of the things I didn’t think I’d ever need.
Until now…
Until him…
I was never the man who believed in love, romance, or happily ever afters. I was married to my work, and happy to be that way. Until one night, not too long ago, when an audacious young man lied his way into my life and showed me what I’d been missing.
Bold and sexy, with a face that could melt through the iciest of exteriors, Gabriel Romero is the one factor I never saw coming. There are so many reasons we shouldn’t work—my age, his, our career goals in life—and yet we are drawn together by a passion for music, and each other, that neither of us can deny.
I’ve always been the one to think things through, to follow my head instead of my heart. But if I don’t open myself to what’s possible, instead of thinking of all the ways this seems impossible, I might miss out on the best thing that has ever happened to me.
So I’m taking a chance, and laying myself at his mercy, opening my heart with nothing but good intentions. Only time will tell if Gabriel Romero decides to let me back in.
Good Intentions is the second book in the Intentions Duet.
