My Thoughts:

I literally just finished listening to this story. I still have the lingering happy-feeling Smash and Grab left me with. I had a smile on my face. The epilogue was perfect for Simon and Dalton.

See, Simon is a paleontologist who was working hard on the most and biggest find of his career. That was his top priority, until his precious fossil was about to be stolen and him kidnapped. Here comes Dalton, the bat-wielding knight in mohawk glory.

Simon went on a road trip, an adventure, that was going to change his life. He loosened up and had fun and along the way, learned to love his bodyguard, road trip buddy, partner in crime. What I love about Simon is that even if he was "gay virgin", his acceptance for what he feels was graceful and swift. He did not spend agonizing and spewing internal homophobia, sometimes, I struggle reading those. When Simon realized he loves Dalton, he was all in, pierced nipple and all.

Now let's talk about Dalton. He is this walking sunshine with a side of tornado? Impulsive, unpredictable, but has the biggest heart, the most easy going personality and a protective streak as wide as the Great Wall of China. In short, I want to be friends with him and go on a road trip with him too! Dalton's child-like qualities is so endearing. There's just something about him.

This story takes us on an adventure. The road trip was so much fun. There's a lot of times that I laughed out loud because of Dalton's lines and antics. Simon is a great balance for Dalton's personality.

I've never Googled so much about dinosaurs until I started listening to this book. It's very educational. Geek speak, but very interesting. I learned so much. There's actually a part in this book, so touching, so amazing that in that scene, I picture out my friend, Shavera, and how she'd be in awe and react probably similarly as Simon.

The supporting characters are pretty great too. I love the different personalities, species and their character traits. I can't wait to get to know them better.

The story ended perfectly, it left me with my own dimply smile and wishing for more. The epilogue was perfect for Simon and Dalton. Kirt Graves is one of my favorite narrators, his performance in this story is excellent as ever.

I've already recommended this book to my friend. If you're into dinosaurs, shifter, road trips, adventure and a bit of breaking and entering, then this book is for you.

My Rating:

Five Pink Stars!

Blurb:

My standard issued lab badge reads "Simon", but it really should say "unexciting nerd with no social life". Don't get me wrong - I love what I do with a passion, but it doesn't leave a lot of time for much else. Especially romance.

While chipping away at my work, I'm suddenly the person between hired cartel muscle and the fossil that will define my career. Which isn't the most insane part of the story.

My savior is a chaotic, bat-wielding punk with a bubble-gum pink mohawk and a killer smile.

In a mad dash to escape the thieves, my knight in studded armor sweeps me across the country while hitting every tourist trap along the way. While smuggling a fossil, might I add.

Oh, and did I mention this pink punk can shift into a dinosaur?
