Sawyer & Royce are back & they have a new trilogy: Matrimony And Mayhem! Join us for a continuation of Royce & Sawyer’s happily ever after as they move into the next phase of their lives...

Everything old is new again in love and murder.

Work together, live together, and play together is the name of the game for Royce Locke and Sawyer Key. But one of those things changes when Chief Mendoza taps Sawyer to lead the newly formed cold case unit. His first task: solve the Magnolia Murders that spanned three decades and suddenly stopped in 2000.

Chaos ensues when a fourth Magnolia Queen contender is murdered during a preliminary round. With the pageant’s one-hundredth anniversary looming, the pressure is on to produce results. Royce and Sawyer, along with their new partners, have to team up to solve the Magnolia Murders—old and new.

As the investigation continues, a surprise visitor and an unexpected phone call force the men to face painful things from their pasts. The future Royce and Sawyer dream of is within their grasp, but first, they’ll need to uproot the seeds of discontent they’ve buried deep.

“I gave in too easily, and he thinks this deputy will do the same. I shouldn’t have sold out. I should’ve hung in there until the bad publicity forced him to resign as Chatham County’s sheriff.”

“That was never going to happen,” Royce said vehemently. “Even if he had resigned, you would’ve become a professional pariah. No department would’ve hired you. Rigby would’ve wanted to bring you onboard, but the former commissioner would’ve vetoed it.”

“He’s right,” Charlie said. “None of this is your fault. You’re the only person who has ever stood up to him. I shouldn’t have even brought it up.”

“Why did you?” Royce wanted to know.

“I guess I’m looking for guidance on what to do.”

“Call your pal Felix,” Royce suggested. “He’ll take your identity to the grave with him.”

Charlie looked at Sawyer, who shrugged. “Royce has a point. You didn’t have a problem airing my dirty laundry. Why the hesitation now?”

“I think the solution is bigger than me running to Felix every time Wheeler behaves unethically,” Charlie said. “I think someone should run for sheriff and beat him.”

His friend’s direct gaze created a sinking feeling in the pit of Sawyer’s stomach.

He shook his head. “Cast your eyes elsewhere.” Sawyer turned to Royce, expecting his man to back him up, but instead, he encountered a huge grin.

“You’d make such a good sheriff,” Royce said.

“But I just got a promotion.” One he was really excited about.

Royce nodded. “Yeah, but you’re destined for greater things.”

“You know how much I hate politics,” Sawyer countered.

“No, you hate the state of our political climate today. That doesn’t mean you have to deploy the same gutter tactics.”

“Oh, you think Wheeler would engage in a clean campaign?” Sawyer asked.

“It’s hard to say because no one runs against him,” Charlie countered. He leaned forward and studied Sawyer intently. “Your unfinished business with the bastard burns in your gut. I know you, Sawyer. You don’t walk away.”

“Relentless,” Royce added.
