Top Ten Tuesday: Books I never talked about but truly love

Writer's picture: AprilApril

Happy Tuesday! I'm excited for this week's TTT topic. I've read a lot of books that I probably haven't talked about here on my blog (which I need to update more!). My entries for this topic will be paranormal/urban fantasy books with kick ass heroines and they're all book series, because I have the propensity to fall in love and binge book series.

I love Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardians series. I probably listened to the audiobooks more than I can remember. Even when I mostly read MM books now, I still go back to these. Basically, a group of guardians who protects humans from vampires descending to madness. This one is set in North Carolina and it made me wanna move there! Confession: I did not read Seth's book. I know something big happens in his story but I wish Dianne made Seth and David as life partners instead. Throughout the series, these two are the top dogs, super close, knows how to calm each other down and there's a deep strong connection. Both also suffered loss from their significant others. The background and foundation of the relationship is there. It would have made so much sense. Ugh.

Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series is the OG of urban fantasy. Seriously, they know how to do urban fantasy just perfectly. The world building is incredible, the plot takes us for one wild ride and the spin off is still on going. I might revisit this series real soon.

Listen. Whenever I'm in a slump, this series is one of my go to. Harper is what I call steadfast, lowkey but so darn capable and powerful in her own right. The world building in this series is also amazing. Imagine this, Las Vegas but filled with demons coexisting with humans and the latter are none the wiser. Harper's family and her friends crack me up.

Another one of my favorite go to series from Suzanne Wright. I love how Sam Parker is the quintessential badass. She defied all the stereotypes while flipping off all the haters. She's British too. She's sarcastic, she's compassionate and didn't take anybody's crap, including Jared (especially Jared).

Oh how I love Leta. She's fierce and loyal to her family and her loved ones. She's also unflappable. Also, ANGELS. Imagine that! I read these on KU then I binged on the available audiobooks. I hope they add more soon.

Nalini's Guild Hunter series is one of my all time favorite series. The world building is incredible, angels, archangels, vampires, and more! Her recent release of Bluebell and Sparkle's story is one that I've been waiting for. It's the story they deserve and I'm happy Nalini did them justice instead of playing safe for the hetero masses who may be uncomfortable with two men falling in love.

Gin Blanco. Kick ass. Assassin with a big heart. She got her heart broken in this series then was able to find somebody who truly loves her for her. I really need to catch up on my reading on this one.

Have you read this series? This series is top notch, A plus, above the board ridiculously awesome. But don't take my word for it. Seriously, go read it. It's about a girl who escaped from those who kept her and profited from her gift. She lands into a courtyard full of dangerous creatures, and she thrives. She changed the world and every bit of the story telling is just masterful. Seriously, incredibly the best. I love it so much, I ordered from B&N all the books for Anne Bishop to sign this month as she is having a book signing in their store. I can't wait to get all my signed books.

This is a spin off from the original Others series. It's set in the same world, but different stories in different areas of Thasia. Crowbones is coming out in a few days and I cannot wait to check it out.

I have recently discovered this new series written by a new-to-me author, Elizabeth Dear. I discovered a new thing (to me) called rejected mate. Mave and Ben's books are set in an academy setting. They're high school kids, but because they're shifters, their maturity isn't typical of a high schooler. Their issues complex and I had all the feels. I got sucked in to the story so fast, I even read the latest one, Knox. Mave and Ben's story gave me a case of book hangover and I wouldn't want it any other way.

Do you have any favorite books that you adore but haven't really talked much about them? Do share.
