Top Ten Tuesday : Ten Most Recent Five-Star Reads

Writer's picture: AprilApril

It's my first Top Ten Tuesday! I was so thrilled to join in on the fun when I saw this post from That Artsy Girl's blog. I love lists, I love books and so I'm here for it!

This week's topic is 10 latest reads. Here's my latest 5-star list with mini reviews.

by Megan Derr

I still can't believe I put off listening to this audiobook. I was hooked from the very beginning. I love everything about it, from the intricate world-building, to the fascinating characters, rich culture and the vast languages. It's going to be on my repeat list, for sure.

by Ella Frank

Book one of a brand new duology from Ella Frank, opposites attract, age gap romance. The first few chapters had me cringing and laughing. I read this book in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. This book is a must-read for an Ella Frank fan.

by Maz Maddox

A fun paranormal romance story between a dinosaur shifter and a paleontologist. I enjoyed their contrasting personalities and how they just work together. Oh, and this one is an age gap romance, obvi. Kirt Graves narrating this one is just perfect.

by Timoty Warren

Oh this book brought me so much joy after reading it. It made me smile. I love it when character's healing process shows in the book and you can feel their joy soon after. I want to be friends with Mikey and go to karaoke with him!

by Lucy Lennox

This book reminds me so much of a romantic comedy show. The main characters have witty banters, but their chemistry is off the charts too. The family dynamics are interesting and contrasting from one mc to another. It's such a fun read and I can't wait to read more of the series. Michael Pauley's narration is on point with this one.

by Riley Hart

This book left me wanting for more, like any Riley Hart novel. It's a sports romance between an out and proud Senator and a closeted NFL athlete. Their process from being strangers to friends to falling in love and getting their HEA was such a treat! It's out on audio now too, so I'm about to get that and listen and experience this all over again.

by Hailey Turner

I believe that nobody does Urban Fantasy quite like Hailey does. The world building is incredible. The pantheons in every book of this series is quite fascinating. The characters are multi faceted. This book is the second to the last of the series, so it's like a preparation for the final showdown, while tying up some plot lines. So well done.

by Kiki Clark

Dad's best friend, age gap and a very romantic story. I enjoyed listening to this one, Kirt Graves is a gold star narrator. The family dynamics is great. Low angst but very steamy listen.

by G.L. Carriger

Another book that I've put off listening to, but left me with a lingering smile on my face when it ended. It's a sci-fi romance set in a human space station with an alien living in exile, who is thriving with the humans. He also has the biggest crush on the human detective. Tristol's exuberance and his child-like wonder put a smile on my face. It's fun, sweet with a bit of mystery.

by Hailey Turner

I listened to this audio book to refresh myself before I listen to the latest addition of the series. The New York City Godpack goes to Europe on tour and well, sparks a wee of international incident. It's filled with adventure, zombies, mystery and gods interfering. Urban Fantasy fans, make sure to check out this series.
